The news that ace director Selvaraghavan is teaming up with hot shot music director Harris Jayaraj for Irandam Ulagam is making waves in Kollywood.

The shoot of PVP Cinemas Arya-Anushka film has started at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad.


Selvaraghavan has always come out with films which have catchy peppy melodies. His teaming with Yuvan Shankar Raja and later with GV Prakash has resulted in chartbusters.

Selva always pays special attention to songs in his films which are beautifully picturised. Now Selva teaming up with Harris Jayaraj for the first time is making waves.

Says Selvarghavan: "Yes Harris Jayaraj is the music director of Irandam Ulagam. A long time back before we came to movies, we used to live in adjoining streets in KK Nagar and occasionally bumped into each other. He was quiet, soft spoken and a gentleman from those day, while I was wild and always getting into trouble with other kids. Now I'm thrilled to be working with Harris."

Selvaraghavan and Harris Jayaraj have met a few times but are yet to compose for the film. After Harris completes his 'On the edge', concert in Malaysia they will be flying to a remote island somewhere near Papua New Guinea to compose for Irandam Ulagam.

Selvaraghavan starts shooting with Arya

'Irandam Ulagam' is going to be a first of its kind quickie from Selvaraghavan. Known for taking a break to start a movie after he finishes one and taking time to complete the shoot, the director is going the opposite way this time.

Last week, he kick-started 'Irandam Ulagam', which has Arya and Anushka in lead roles. This comes just a few weeks after his recent venture 'Mayakkam Enna' hit the screens to a decent opening and good reviews from all sections of the media.

"Irandam Ulagam went on to floors in Hyderabad a few days ago. A bilingual which is being made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, it will be a fantasy entertainer which will travel between ancient and modern times. Arya is thrilled about his role," rumour mills have.

Selvaraghavan has plans to complete the shooting within 45 days and to complete post-production in another one month. "In all probability, Irandam Ulagam will be a big summer release in both Kollywood and Tollywood," add sources.
