Attakathi audio launched in a grand manner

The audio launch of CV Kumar's Attakathi, a film directed by debutant Pa Ranjith, was held in a grand manner at the biggest hall in Sathyam cinemas today. The director is the former assistant of Venkat Prabhu.

The audio was launched by Venkat and received by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who said that the music of debutant music director Santhosh Narayanan was promising. Three songs and a trailer were screened of this movie set in vada Chennai. But the highlight was the informal live performance of a few songs by two singers and the music director himself.

The list of dignitaries included Abirami Ramanathan, PL Thenappan, Rajesh, Sasi, SP Charan, Ramakrishnan, DGM of NFDC, Vaibhav, Kalaipuli Thanu and others.

The film marks the debut of Dinesh and Kannada girl Nandhitha. Vetrimaaran who was present, recalled his college days and said, "North Chennai is not all crime infested and has not been totally and properly captured on screen before. But this film will show the other side of the normal citizens of the area and reflects the college life of the inhabitants. It's appreciable that the director has attempted to capture the raw feel of the area and its everyday life in this love story."

The trailer captivated many while the different title and invitation attracted the comments of many dignitaries. Shiva was his humourous best while complementing the director while producer T Siva said that he got a feel of Karthi and Priyamani from the film Paruthiveeran thanks to the sheer naturalness of the lead characters and love story.

Venkat Prabhu said, "I am really proud to be here today and only a director can know how it feels when his assistant makes a film. Ranjith is a very serious and hard working person and this is like my family function. I am waiting to see the film!"
