Complaint filed against Dhanush for allegedly defaming women

Mayakkam Enna
A complaint has been filed against National Award winning actor Dhanush and his elder brother director Selvaraghavan for allegedly defaming women in a song sequence in their recent venture 'Mayakkam Enna'.

According to the complainant K Ramasubramanian, "The song Kadhal En Kadhal Athu En Kanneerula... in Mayakkam Enna, there are words like ‘Adida Avala, Othaida Avala, Vetra Avala, Thevaye illa’ and ‘Ponnunga ellam valvin sabam’."

Ramasubramanian added: "These words are highly objectionable as they insult women. They are not only derogatory by nature, but are intimidatory and also tend to incite hatred and violence towards women.”

Stating that in India women were being treated as the form of Goddess Shakthi, the complainant said Dhanush and Selvaraghavan had insulted them in the song, which was penned and crooned by them. Meanwhile, Selvaraghavan's wife Geethanjali has denied the allegations, saying "The song was jovial in nature".
