Varalakshmi, daughter of actor/politician Sarath Kumar was touted as the next big thing in Kollywood when she signed the film Poda Podi opposite Osthe star STR few years ago.

For various reasons, the movie directed by STR's friend Vignesh was progressing at snail’s pace and is yet to see the light of the day.

However, Varu has hit jackpot if sources are to be believed! The pretty girl is being tipped off to play the female lead opposite young Naga Chaitanya in director Radha Mohan's bilingual titled Gauravam.

Sources say that Radha Mohan did a photo shoot recently with the lead pair to check the compatibility of the stars and was pleased with the outcome.

A source close to the actress confirmed the news and said, 'She has waited long enough for Poda Podi's completion.

I think it is high time she moved on.' Chaitanya's dad Nagarjuna produces the film under Annapoorna Studios banner.
