In the finals of the tournament held at Hyderabad yesterday, the Yellow brigade defeated the 'Men-in-Blue' Karnataka Bulldozers by 1 run making the Sandalwood players walk to the pavilion disillusioned.
The valuable hit of 95 runs by opener Vikraanth helped the team accumulate the score of 161 for Chennai Rhinos. Vikraanth's dogged effort and selfless act in the field fetched him the Man of the Match Award, and big applause from the audience and the opposition camp alike.
The bowling attack of Vikraanth took two victims in the 'edge-of-the-seat' last over and changed the course of the match when the Karnataka Bulldozers had almost taken the game. Excellent knocks by Dhruv, 54, and Karthik, 51, went in vain because of Vikraanth's match deciding spell.
A huge crowd, assembled at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, was always on their feet and kept the players in high spirits with their non-stop cheering along with galaxy of actresses present at the dugout joining them.
Sarathkumar, Radhika, Shriya Saran, Charmee, Kajal Agarwal, Priya Mani and Madhu Shalini were seen cheering the players.
This year the CCL had 6 teams – Chennai Rhinos, Telugu Warriors, Karnataka Bulldozers, Kerala Srikers, Mumbai Heroes and Bengal Tigers playing in the tournament.
