The unofficial strike in the industry has brought the Tamil film industry to a grinding halt.

But most of the directors are making use of it by going on recce location hunting in exotic foreign locales.

Selvaraghavan is one director in Tamil who just like his role-model Mani Ratnam has never shot songs or depended on foreign locations to shoot songs. And now for the first time, he is going to shoot his Irandam Ulagam abroad as the story demands it.

Recently the director had gone for a15-day recce to Brazil with his team of cameraman Ramji and art director Kiran. Selva came back to realize that the stand-off is still continuing and there is no point in wasting time sitting in Chennai and doing nothing.

Now the latest we hear is that Selva accompanied by his wife Gitanjali has taken off to US again looking for locations.

We understand that he is right now in Utah, a state in the Western United States near Arizona.

The buzz is that Harris Jayaraj who is the music director of the film will be joining Selva later at another exotic destination for composing songs.
