Every time a new Tamil film starring one of the top heroes is announced, the names of several gorgeous Bollywood babes who might play the lead opposite the star are dropped.

And, one of the them will definitely be Sonam Kapoor.

Suriya, who is busy with K.V.Anand’s Maatraan, has recently confirmed his next project, which is a 3D film directed by Venkat Prabhu. The director is keen to have Sonam Kapoor in the female lead.

An insider says, “Director is eager to rope in Sonam Kapoor for the female lead, as she suits the role better.” He further added, “Prabhu likes, her girl to next door looks and her action as well, any ways he has to discuss about it with Suriya.”

Sonam Kapoor made her debut in 2007 with Saawariya and has had a hit and miss career so far in Bollywood, with her latest big budget release Players failing to make any big impact.

If Venkat Prabhu is able to rope her in, it will be her first project down south. It is said that Venkat Prabhu will take a final call on the issue after a discussion with Suriya.
