Music director Thaman has announced that he would be making a non-film music album joining hands with his singer friends under the newly formed band called 'Thakkali'!

Thaman, who is currently said to be the busiest composers in the south, came up with an idea of forming a music band and roped in his friends Ranjith, Rahul Nambiar and Naveen Madhav to be a part of the band. They aptly christened the band 'Thakkali' and now working on their maiden album.

"As I was much involved in commercial compositions only I decided to something different with music and that's how 'Thakkali' came into being. The music band was titled 'Thakkali' as I'm a foodie and the name is also very much a familiar thing that everyone can relate to their daily life. Our first album would feature 4 songs, including one that speaks social issues. One song is already completed and we are working on the remaining three," says Thaman.
