Kollywood Back in Business, Film Shoot Resumes!

After a long strike Kollywood is all set to put itself back on track with its film shoots starting one by one.

It has been more than 40 days that Tamil industry had shut down its filming business due to the Producers' Council – FEFSI stand over the salary issue. Over a period of two weeks both the organizations held discussions at various levels and with the help of the Tamil Nadu Government's Labour department have arrived to a settlement agreeing for 21 out of 23 issues between them. The remaining issues would also be settle soon said one FEFSI member.

Even while the final talks between associations were on, big films like Kamal's 'Vishwaroopam', Vijay's A R Murugadoss directed 'Thuppaki', Ajith's 'Billa 2', Vikram's 'Thaandavam' started their shooting schedules and is currently on it in a fast pace. But, these films paid the workers the salary they demanded.

Since the settlement is almost arrived it is expected that very soon there would be an official announcement of the calling off of the strike and other films – medium budget and small budget films would also resume their shoot from this week.

"It is a good development. We are happy that we are back on work," says one of the Kodambakkam based FEFSI member.
