Jagathy Sreekumar, popular and veteran Malayalam comedy and character artist met with a road accident on Saturday and is critical in Hospital.

The doctors in the hospital conducted a crucial abdomen surgery for his internal bleeding and have given 48 hours time for him to recover from the critical state and for further complicated surgeries and other medications. He also suffered very serious fractures and injuries in the neck, shoulder and arms.

The accident took place when his car hit a road median near Kozhikodu at 4:30 in the early morning when he was on his way from Ernakulam to Coorg, Karnataka where he was shooting his upcoming Malayalam film.

Jagathy Sreekumar is 62 years old and has been in the industry for more than 3 decades in Malayalam industry. He has also done few films in other south films. The actor has acted in more than 1000 films till now and is said to be one of the leading and respected comedians of Malayalam cinema.
