It is the birthday of actor Jai. The young star is turning 27 today. Jai was born in Chennai. He is the nephew of music composer Deva and cousin of Srikanth Deva.

The Engeyum Eppodhum star was born on 6th of April in 1985 and has started his film career in 2002 with Vijay's Bhagavathi directed by A. Venkatesh followed by Venkat Prabhu's directorial Chennai 600028 that is produced by S. P. B. Charan in 2007.

Sasikumar directed Subramaniapuram is Jai's first film as main protagonist that has Swathi as his lady love, followed by Ahmed directed Vaamanan with Priya Anand, Adhe Neram Adhe Idam, Venkat Prabhu directed Goa, Aval Peyar Thamizharasi, Sripathy Rangasamy's directorial Kanimozhi with Shazahn Padamsee as Jai's love interest.

Jai also did cameos in couple of films Venkat Prabhu directed Saroja and Jeeva's KO directed by K.V Anand are some of them to name. Jai is lined up with a couple of films in his kitty, one is debutant Nelson directing Vettai Mannan sharing screen space with STR, Hansika and Deeksha Seth, and the other is Arjunan Kadhali directed by Parthy Baskar with Poorna in the lady lead.

The actor is currently acting in Simbhu's 'Vettai Mannan'.
