Amala stormed into Kollywood when stereotypes were prevalent. In an unconventional role, in and as Mynaa she won over the audiences and in no time she became a star. After hitting the bulls eye in commercial hits like Vettai and Kathalil Sothappuvathu Eppadi, Amala is going slow and choosing films with utmost care.

Recently, when Joshiy the showman of Malayalam cinema narrated a script, Amala was floored. It is the story of two journalists told with humour, fun and thrill. And when she heard that Mohanlal plays the other character, Amala signed on the dotted line without any hesitation.

Amala spoke to kollyinsider.com: " I am really thrilled to work with Mohanlal. The script is awesome which offers me ample scope to perform. I consider it as a triumph when filmmakers see me as a performer rather than a wallflower"

Amala will start work on the film titled Run Baby Run, in Kochi from April 20 and the buzz is that she has also signed a film opposite young sensation Ram in Telugu
