There were rumours doing the rounds that Amala Paul is the front runner to do the same role in the Hindi version of Tamil Vettai.

In fact the grapevine had it that Lingusamy had asked her to keep her dates free as talks were on with UTV who are producing the film in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor reprising the role that Arya did in the original.

The latest we hear is that Lingusamy will be starting the film at Ramoji Fim City by first week of May and Ileana has been signed up to be the heroine.

Ali Zafar who did Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Tere Bin Laden will be doing the role which Madhavan did in Vettai.

When asked Lingusamy said: “We are speaking to Ileana but nothing is confirmed. The shoot will start soon".
