Vetrimaran confirms Simbu in ‘Vada Chennai’

Vetrimaran is one of the pathbreaking directors of Tamil Cinema who made waves through Dhanush films like Polladhavan and Aadukalam. The noted director had signed up Silambarasan to do his next gangster film Vada Chennai set in North Madras.

Vetrimaran even conducted a rehersal camp for his artists . STR, Andrea and Telugu star Rana Dagubatti were originally signed to do the film. Later Rana walked out of the film, saying he had "date problems".

STR after his return from US was supposed to kick start Vada Chennai, but instead he started work on his Vettai Mannan. This set tongues rolling in Kollywood that the actor is no longer a part of the Vetrimaran film. The grapevine was abuzz that Vetri has replaced STR with Jiiva.

However Vetrimaran in an interview to a newspaper has said; " All reports of Jiiva replacing STR are completely false. We are planning to start the shoot from June. A debutant actor is likely to play the role which was originally planned for Rana."
