Finally, the official announcement has come in from producer Dayanidhi Alagiri that the Simbu starrer Vada Chennai has been shelved. However, director Vettrimaran will still do a film for Cloud Nine Movies and interestingly, Dhanush has been roped in as the lead star.


It is worth a mention here that Dhanush and Vettrimaran went on give a smash hit Aadukalam and they both won National Award for Best Acting and Best Direction.

Other details about this film are that GV Prakash has been roped in to score the music and Velraj will handle the camera.
