S A Chandrasekar, father of Vijay, is sacked as the President of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council giving a new twist to the ongoing standoff between FEFSI and the council.

In a surprise move the other office bearers of the council met in a crucial meeting on Tuesday and decided to remove SAC from the post of President. Ibrahim Rowther is now temporarily appointed as the President of the council.

20 members from the Council including R K Selvamani and Thenappan have resigned their post on Wednesday.

It is said that the Council had decided that they would not attend the meeting convened by Labour Minister S T Chellapandian yesterday but SAC attended the meeting headed by the Minister against the earlier decision of the council.

While the strike by the FEFSI being called off and the film shoots and other works have been resumed this move by the Producers' Council has come as a big blow to the ongoing talks mediated by the Government's Labour Department.

Industry is now in a state of despair predicting another bad move from the FEFSI that would again disturb the smooth functioning of the industry.
