Dayanidhi Alagiri, son of Union Minister M K Alagiri and the grandson of former CM M Karunanidhi, started his film production company called Cloud Nine Movies and produced and distributed Tamil movies.

Now, Dayanidhi has started another production house, his second, called Meega Entertainment.

When questioned why he had started another company when he already had one, the producer said, "I want to expand my film productions now. Cloud Nine Movies has already been in production of films. But, I want to produce more films and I need more teams to get into the job. I thought having another company and a team would make my productions easier and I can do many films simultaneously."

Dayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine Movies only produced Ajith's last year blockbuster 'Mankatha' and the mediocre film 'Thoonganagaram'.

It is learnt that the producer has plans to produce big budget films under Cloud Nine Movies, and small budget films or collaborated productions with Meega Entertainment, the new production house.

The very first venture of Meega Entertainment is a film that is directed by debutant Manigandan, director Vetrimaaran's former assistant. The film is made in association with Vetrimaaran's newly formed production house Grass Root Film Company. The 'Aadukalam' director himself has written the story and the script for the film. Siddharth is playing the lead character and Velmurugan is handling the camera.
