Four Tamil films – 'Aadukalam', 'Azhagarsamiyin Kudhrai', 'Varnam' and recent release '3' are selected to be screened in the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) that is to begin on 23rd of this month and will be held for 5 days, till 27th May!


This is the twelfth year that the annual festival is celebrating and popular stars from around the globe are expected to participate in the screenings.

From Tamil industry director Vetrimaaran, actor Dhanush and his director-wife Aishwarya Dhanush are partcipating in the event and also walk the Red Carpet. From Bollywood, actress Kareena Kapoor and director Madhur Bhandarkar are taking part in the event.

The festival is considered one of the most prestigious among the overseas Indian film festivals. The event is presented by the Indo-American Arts Council and is held in the lower Manhattan's Tribeca Theatre and around 40 award winning films, short films and documentaries are screened.

The screenings also include productions from the countries of Pakistan, South Africa, Australia and Sri Lanka.
