Director Kathir is back in business after a long sabbatical. He is known for directing romantic entertainers like Kadhalar Dhinam, Idhayam and Kadhal Desam and has now set the ball rolling for Kodai Vidumurai.

Though director Kathir was set on having AR Rahman to score the music, his prior commitments and busy schedules did not accord the musician the time for Kodai Vidumurai.
