A new production house named L.A. Cine
Arts has launched a film titled Muthu Nagaram (MN). Befitting the
title, the film’s script has been set in the backdrop of the port city
of Tuticorin which is considered as one of the most ‘active’ cities in
the Southern part of the State.
The film is directed by Ottapidaram K. Thirupathi who has signed up Satish, who played the hero in Oru Mazhai Naangu Saral, as the hero of MN. Others in the lead role include Ravi, ‘Theepetti’ Ganesan, Arasu, ‘Kadhal’ Dhandapani, ‘Nandha’ Saravanan, Sukumar, ‘Boys’ Rajan, Poovitha, Madhu and Thirupathi. Asrick Banu debuts as heroine in the film opposite Satish.
Suriyan is the cinematographer of the film which has music by Jayaprakash. Jayamurasu has penned all the lyrics in the film while Raj Keerthi has taken care of the editing assignment. Thirupathy has directed the film besides penning the story, screenplay and dialogues.
Talking about his film, Thirupathy says “I worked as an assistant director to Thiagarajan during the making of Vijaykanth’s Maanagara Kaaval many years back. I have completed the shoot of MN in 40 days’ time by shooting non-stop in and around Tuticorin. Five youths, who undergo prison term for no fault of theirs, attempt a crime for the sake of doing it. The consequences of their adventure have been filmed in an interesting manner!”
