Director Paneerselvam says that there is no respect for creators in Tamil cinema. Director Paneerselvam who had earlier directed the film Renigunta has now directed a film titled 18 Vayasu.

This film which has been produced by Nic Arts Chakravarthy has Johnny, Gayathri, Sathyendran, Rohini and J S in the cast. This film is being released during the last week of this month.

Director Paneerselvam while speaking about this film said, "Though this is a romantic film, it has a different concept. It will be a straightforward film. The songs of this film have already become popular.

These days you can see world cinema in DVDs for Rs 30 or 40 in the streets. The situation in Tamil cinema is to abruptly copy these films. These people who copy foreign films are honoured and revered very much but those who have creativity are not respected here. This trend should change.

If such people are not condemned or criticized, than a situation will arise where nativity directors like Bala, Cheran and Lingusamy will be go missing. If the next generation directors also start copying foreign films, there will dearth for creativity and the nativity stories will go missing. This is a dangerous situation."
