Suriya's film with Gautham Menon, Thuppariyum Anandhan will have Pranitha playing his lead and the deal has been struck recently according to the production sources.

Actress Pranitha, who played Karthi's ladylove in Saguni will now be sharing the screen with Karthi's sibling Surya.

Pranitha was assigned to play the female lead in Thuppariyum Anandhan. The movie would be produced and directed by Gautham Menon.

According to a press release from Photon Kathas, the movie will go to floors in 2013.

Says Surya, When Gautham and I come together, people expect romance, great songs and action. However, 'Thuppariyum Anandhan' will offer the audience all this and so much more packaged in a style never seen before.'

On his part, Gautham said, 'I am really excited that Surya has come on board to do Thuppariyum Anandhan with me.

This will be an action adventure in a contemporary styled period film. All cliches associated with making a period film will be broken with this effort.'

Pranitha is over the moon now. She has reportedly expressed her joy being part of such a mega project.

Earlier, Pranitha had to turn down a Sundar C film since she had to give away bulk call sheets for the movie.
