Rajini’s Sivaji 3D to release soon!

‘Pera Ketale Summa Adhurudilla’ is a punch line used by Rajinikanth in Sivaji. Now, here is some adhiradi (stunning) news for scores of his fans.
Yes, the ‘Boss’ is back and in a sparkling new avatar! The Superstar’s 2007 blockbuster, directed by Shankar, is being converted into 3D by the production house AVM. The film had Shirya playing the female lead while Suman played the antagonist. The film’s music was composed by Oscar-winner A R Rahman.

According to reports, producer M S Guhan is overseeing the 3D conversion of the film at Prasad EFX, which is situated in Chennai. The special effects house, which has also worked on the 3D conversion of some Hollywood films, had showcased their works to Guhan, who, then, hit upon the idea to give Sivaji the 3D treatment.

Given the grandeur that Shankar brought to the film with the help of cameraman K V Anand and art director Thotta Tharani (who can forget the majestic palace set for the Vaaji Vaaji… song?), the film is sure to look stunning in 3D as well. The frame-by-frame 3D conversion process began by June, 2011 and the film is likely to release this September. We hear that a team of over 400 visual effects experts have worked on the film.

Interestingly, the Superstar himself had been given a preview of some of the converted scenes and was blown away after seeing the result. Looks like it is going to be a double delight for Rajini fans as his Kochadaiyaan, the actor’s animated 3D film, filmed using the motion capture technology (used in films like Avatar and The Adventures Of Tintin), is also slated to release later this year on his birthday, December 12, 2012.
