It is official! Shruthi Haasan has signed on the dotted line yesterday to play heroine in Prabhu Deva's next Hindi film for producer Kumar Taurani of Tips. The untitled film is going to be the launch pad for Kumar Taurani's son Girish.


Prabhu Deva who has just returned from an ad shoot in Bangkok said: "Yes, Shruthi Haasan is going to play heroine in my next film in Hindi where I'm introducing a new hero Girish. It is a remake of Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana in Telugu, in which I debuted as director."

Prabhu Deva's Telugu blockbuster Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana starring Siddharth and Trisha was a trendsetter and a blockbuster.Prabhu feels Girish will be ideal for the role as the Telugu version catapulted Siddharth, then a newcomer to stardom.

A beaming Shruthi Haasan told US: "I always speak to the media only after signing a film. (Smiles) From yesterday I am officially the heroine in Prabhu Deva’s film.I am extremely excited and happy to work under him, who I consider as one of the most talented people and multi-tasker. I have seen the original and loved it for its feel good romance and characterisation. I'm sure it will rock in Hindi too."
