Billa 2 makers and lead stars have repeatedly claimed that the movie was a super hit and doing roaring business at the Box Office even after getting thumbs down from critics.
However, Vidyut Jamwal has unknowingly admitted that the Tamil film has failed, as he has pointed his finger at the Regional Censor Board, which chopped many sequences citing 'objectionable scene' and it changed the original shape of the movie.

If reports are to be believed, Vidyut Jamwal has said that the Censor Board asked them to cut some key scenes that turned out to be too costly for them. Especially, the scenes involving Ajith Kumar and him came under the scanner of the board, which felt that it was too violent. According to him, he along with the Thala had worked hard for those scenes and their efforts went in vain. However, he ends on the note that his other movie Thuppakki would not follow the footsteps of Billa 2.

Meanwhile, Billa 2 fever seems to be finally slowing down, as the collections of the film have completely dropped at International Box Office. Not only in foreign countries but also in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore, the movie has failed to pull the audience to theatres.
