Versatile Kollywood hero Daniel Balaji will be seen in a new avatar in his upcoming film Gnana Kirukkan.
Known for his powerful psychotic antagonist roles in Polladhavan and Vettayadu Vilayadu, Daniel shifted gears and played the lead actor in Mutthirai.

With a couple of his films, including Marumugam and Mithivedi, gearing up for release, the actor has signed on Gnana Kirukkan with director Ilayadevan.

About his character, he says, "It is a mind-blowing subject and I essay the title role. I have a new look in the entire movie and am attired in white khadi dhoti and shirt.

Gnana Kirukkan is one who treats all human beings equally irrespective of their caste, creed, and financial status. He is a selfless man who lives for others. I am really kicked up about the project."

Actress Meenal's sister Sendhi, who has done a few key roles in films, will be seen opposite Balaji in the film.

Thambi Ramaiah will play a crucial role and Mollywood actress Arcaha Kavi and debutant Jagaraj are also part of the lead cast.

Gnana…. is based on a true-life incident and has music composed by Taj Noor. It will be shot extensively in and around Kumbakonam.
