Abhishek Bachchan to buy the rights of Tamil Song

When the team of Karupampatti had approached Bappi Lahiri to sing for a track in their film, little would they have imagined that the song will make a journey to Bollywood. Yes, according to the team, Naughty Raja… the song that the Bollywood composer has sung in the film might make it to a Hindi film, with Abhishek Bachchan expressing interest to buy the rights.

Says Prabhuraja Chozhan, the film’s director, “Abhishek Bachchan had heard the song at Bappi Lahiri’s studio in Hitesh Nagar in Mumbai. He had remarked to the composer that the song will become as big a hit as his I Am A Disco Dancer… if it is released in Hindi. He had then assured Bappi that he will be using the song in his film. Currently, people from a production company close to Abhishek are in talks with our producer, Sundar K, to buy the rights of the song.” The team claims that the Bollywood production house has offered to pay an amount that is almost half the budget of the Tamil film. And the movie has been made at a budget of around Rs 6 crore!

Now, following this, we hear that the producer has asked the director to reshoot Naughty Raja… at a cost of a whopping Rs 75 lakh!
