Mugamoodi sees positive response, though mixed criticisms

Mugamoodi
Notwithstanding the not-so-encouraging reviews and criticisms director Mysskin’s lates film Mugamoodi has met with so far, trade circles have pointed out that the film’s performance at the box-office in its first five days was ‘more than encouraging’.
The film, which hit the screens all over the State and elsewhere last Friday (31st August), has been doing exceedingly well in theatres, it is pointed out.

Reports say that the film managed to collect as many as Rs.1.60 crores in its first three days and if the trend continued for the next 2-3 weeks, it might even end up as a super-duper hit. The pre-release publicity glitz and the relentless campaign by Mysskin & Co. appear to have paid rich dividends.

The film was released in as many as 25 halls in Chennai city alone. Trade circles point out that the response to the film from usual movie-goers, women and children has been found encouraging and revealed that the distributors (in Chennai) have so far managed to rake in a profit of Rs.90 lakhs.

Reports from the suburban and rural areas also are indicative of the film’s assured run at least for the next 2-3 weeks which is good news to the distributors and theatre-owners. As no major film appers to be in sight to challenge it, the film is expected to do well for the next few weeks.
