Finally, Thaandavam got past all the hurdles and a grand release for the film has been scheduled on September 28.

Justice finally prevailed, with the Madras High Court dismissing the petition filed by assistant director Ponnusamy for the stay of the film’s release.

Ponnusamy had claimed that the story of Thaandavam was his and hence the film's release should be stopped until the matter was resolved.

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures and directed by Vijay, the film has Anushka and Amy Jackson in the lead. Jagapathy Babu plays a powerful antagonist. Thaandavam will be Chiyaan’s biggest release till date.

According to Dhananjeyan of UTV, the Tamil version alone is getting released in 750 cinema theatres worldwide.
