The biopic of the slain forest brigand Veerappan, Vana Yuddham, has been mired in controversies right from the outset.
The recent incident is that Veerappan's wife, Muthulakshmi, failed to turn up for a special screening organized for her at a preview theatre in Chennai on Sunday.
An upset director AMR Ramesh says, "Muthulakshmi had earlier got a stay order against the release of the film and hence, we had organized a special screening for her on Sunday, so that she understands that there are no objectionable scenes in the film that tarnish her or her daughter's image, as she claims. Only if she watches the movie, will she come to know the truth."
Director adds, "I was at the Chennai court a couple of days back and it was declared that she had to submit the proof of all documents about the scenes that malign her image. For that, she needs to watch the movie first."
However, her no show is delaying the film's censorship also. The director also says,"The Kannada version of the film, Attahasa, has already been cleared by the Censor Board and has got a U/A certificate. We are waiting for Muthulakshmi to watch the Tamil version. Promising to watch the film and then failing to turn up isn't right."
Meanwhile, Ramesh will organize special special screenings for Nakeeran Gopal and the Rajkumar family too.
