‘Enthiran’ on Media and Entertainment Business Conclave discussion

It was no surprise when the organisers of Media and Entertainment Business Conclave chose ‘Enthiran’ (2010) for discussion for a session dedicated to computer graphics and 3D technology.

For, the second movie in which director Shankar and superstar Rajinikanth came together after Sivaji (2007), was the one that set high standards for graphics and special effects in filmdom.

The session will take the participants on a journey of complex graphics and special effects in ‘Enthiran’ and will also explain the complexities of the technology used in the film. The session, to be conducted by Srinivas Mohan, who supervised the visual effects team of ‘Enthiran’ and also won a National Award for his work in the movie, will also touch upon the basics of computer graphics and 3D stereoscopic vision.

It will also deconstruct the usage of the technology in the print and electronic media. Srinivas Mohan is known for his work in films like ‘Nanban’, ‘Sivaji’ and ‘Boys’. His recent work happens to be ‘Maattrraan’, which will soon hit the screens.

‘Enthiran’, produced by Sun Pictures, was one of the highest-grossing movies in the country and later actor Shah Rukh Khan roped in the Superstar to play a cameo in his sci-fi flick ‘Ra.One’.

The conclave, to be chaired by actor Kamal Haasan, will include several sessions covering various aspects of filmmaking. Also, the 100th year of Indian cinema will be celebrated at the event.
Actors such as Mammooty, Mohanlal, Dileep and other renowned film personalities are expected to attend the event.
