Thaandavam team takes anti-piracy steps
Vikram's Thaandavam, directed by Vijay, is already running to packed houses across the state. But the team has now found out several pirates are trying to download the film digitally as well as sell it as DVDs across the State to spoil the theatrical running and success of the film.
The makers of Thaandavam have lodged a complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner that the pirated CDs of the film is available in Burma Bazaar, Anna Nagar, Flower Bazaar, Park Town, Chindardripet, West Mambalam, Ritchie Street and various other places in Chennai.

In his complaint, G Dhananjayan, Chief – South Film Business, Disney-UTV, has alleged that since the CDs are available freely in the market, the collections at the theatres are dwindling and seriously affects the film’s business at the box office.

He has also alleged that the digital downloads are also available but this has been curtailed to a great extent with the help of an online agency. Along with the complaint, Dhananjayan had also attached a copy of the pirated CD to stress on the urgency and seriousness of the matter.
