Engeyum Eppothum Raja, a music concert by Ilayaraja, which was supposed to be held on November 3rd in Canada, has been cancelled.
Huge preparations were made for this concert in which several artistes and singers were to participate but the Sandy Storm has played spoilsport. With the US and Canada ravaged by the Sandy Storm, the organizers felt that it was not the appropriate time to hold the concert of such a large-scale and therefore decided to postpone the event. Though it is a huge disappointment for all Ilayaraja fans, it is a must considering the huge damage that had occurred in that part of the world.

Here is the announcement released by Trinity Events,

Trinity Events regretfully would like to inform you, due to unforeseen severe weather conditions in Chennai and North America the “Engeyum Eppothum Raja” show scheduled for November 3rd has been postponed. The postponement comes as a result of Cyclone Neelam in Chennai, which caused disruption and closure of the Chennai airport. In addition, the current situation in USA/Canada with hurricane (Sandy) has also impacted the air travel.

We value our artists and because their safety is important to us, we have decided to select another date that is suitable to everyone. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and we are doing everything we can to announce a new date as soon as possible. Updates in regards to tickets will be announced in 48 hours.

We will not disappoint Maestro Ilayaraja’s fans and we remain strongly committed to giving you the best show in the very near future.
