Sony Music grabs 'Kadal' audio rights!
Sony Music Entertainment, a global music giant, today announced the music acquisition of ace director Mani Ratnam’s Kadal.
Academy Award winner A R Rahman is the composer as well as the Music Director and has also worked on the background score of the film.

Confirming the same, Ashok Parwani, Head South, Sony Music Entertainment said, “We are very happy to be associated with such a magnificent project and to work with Mani Sir. We go along way with A R Rahman and it is our 3rd project with him this year. We are confident music enthusiasts will appreciate the music as much as the film.”

The lyrics of one song incorporate Vairamuthu's notable poetic work about sea odyssey from Thanner Thesam and two more songs from his other works as well. The song Nenjukulle of the soundtrack opened up worldwide as a performance by singer Shakthisree Gopalan in the first episode of Unplugged India and has garnered overwhelming responses while A R Rahman mentions that the song sounds different in the movie.

The film features debutant Gautham Karthik, son of actor Karthik and debutant Thulasi, daughter of Radha in the lead roles. The film will be dubbed and released simultaneously in Telugu as Kadali.
