Honey Singh, who made an appearance on the Ethir Neechal title track with his rap portions along with Hip Hop Tamizha, has found himself in the eye of the storm from various feminist groups.

The Punjabi rapper had skyrocketed his way to the top of the charts after delivering a few hit songs this year, but a couple of songs under his name supposedly demean women and its lyrics have been accussed of being overtly suggestive and insensitive. At present, the entire country has been outraged by the barbaric incident in Delhi and Honey Singh’s music has come under the scanner for its lyrical content.

The rapper though had issued a statement of clarification saying that the two songs that have stirred up a mess are infact not written or sung by him. He said that he had contacted Youtube to request them to notify the individuals misusing his name and posting such offensive songs. He also claimed that he was from a small town where he learnt to respect and treat women fairly.
