The Chennai box-office has been ticking briskly since the release of films for the 2013 Pongal festive season. Here are the opening weekend reports of the Pongal releases from 11th to 17th of January.

Alex Pandian :

Everybody would have heard the reviews about this Karthi and Anushka starrer flick, but despite of it Alex Pandian has managed to get a good opening being a solo runner for the first two days and with 1218 screens showing it. The first week collection in Chennai is Rs 3,25,95,745.

Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya : (Jan 13-17)

The comedy caper with the combo of Santhanam, Power Star and new face Shiva, is undoubtedly the best among Pongal releases. With 685 shows per day in Chennai, KLTA has earned Rs 1,88,49,240 in the first week of its release.

Samar : (Jan 13-17)

Director Thiru's Vishal and Trisha starrer 'Samar' is being rated as the second best among Pongal releases. With 265 shows per day in Chennai Samar has earned Rs 49,62,570.

Puthagam : (Jan 14-17)

Ranked as the weak competitor in the Pongal race 'Puthagam' was the last to be released on the 14th of January, 2013. With just 64 shows per day in Chennai Puthagam has collected Rs 3,46,935 in the first week.
