Power Star Dr Srinivasan might have worked in a film before, but the actor admits that working on Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya (KLTA) was a ...
“In my films, apart from acting, I had to take care of the entire production details as well. But in this, I only had to follow my director’s orders. I thoroughly enjoyed working with this team,” he says.
The film, produced by Rama Narayanan and Santhanam under the banners of Sri Thenandal Films and Handmade Films, is being directed by K S Manikandan. “I play a wealthy pannayar’s son in the film. Santhanam and Sethu play the other two leads. This will be an out-and-out comedy entertainer and the audience will leave the theatre with a big smile on their face,” assures Power Star.
Quiz him how he landed the role and the actor says, “Santhanam approached me and asked me if I could be a part of his movie. I was stunned and asked him, ‘kalaikareengala thambi?’ But he was serious. I didn’t even ask him what the story was. It’s only after I went to the shooting spot that I asked them about my role.”
Srinivasan says he has many fond memories of working on KLTA. “Santhanam has the ability to make everyone laugh. But, he told me that I made him laugh like never before. That was such a big compliment,” he says, “Shooting with Simbu, who’s made a cameo appearance in the film, was a learning experience. During breaks, he used to keep looking at me and told me that he enjoyed working with me.”
On a parting note, he says, “There’s a fast-paced song in the film for which we’ve all danced. This is the first time that I’ve danced with the help of a choreographer. That number will be one of the film’s highlights!”
