Samar an action entertainer features Vishal, Trisha and Sunaina in the lead with Manoj Bajpai and JD Chakravarthy in supporting roles. Now Samar will take on Karthi's mighty Alex Pandian and Santhanam's laugh riot Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasai. Samar was in the news for the last few weeks and frankly no one gave the film an ice cube chance to make it for Pongal. But Vishal and director Thiru feels that the film will break all myths and emerge winner all the way.

And with Vishwaroopam postponed, Samar will manage to get the theatres booked for the film. Samar's financial problems have all been sorted out and the film is all set for a big Pongal release
