Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya (KLTA), has had a clear run in the box office around Pongal especially with the slowing down of Alex Pandian and the delays in the release of Vishwaroopam. Industry pundits had originally predicted Alex Pandian to have a better run than KLTA but are now left scratching their eye brows.

Sources say that Director Gautham Vasudev Menon who has a cameo in KLTA tried catching the movie at a big screen and could not sit through the entire movie. Which is somewhat understandable as KLTA is just not the type of movie we normally associate with Gautham Vasudev Menon. The movie also has young super star Simbu in a special appearance.

KLTA even with its share of controversies over plagiarism and use of Director Bhagyaraj's script has been a laugh riot. The film marks the debut of comedy star Santhanam as a producer and co-starring with power star Srinivasan. Santhanam recently confirmed that the film has been profitable for him and others involved in the venture – that is good news for an industry where losses amount to more than the profits, year after year.
