Thala Ajith has issued a press statement denying that he is signing any new films. In fact he is planning to do a surgery on October 21 after he completes his current assignments- Vishnuvardhan directed Thala 53 and Siva directed Thala 54 which will kick-start on April 1.

The press statement from Ajith's official spokesperson says – " Rumour mills have been churning nonstop day and night across the media on actor Ajith Kumar’s future projects and his association with a lot of directors. Now we have got an official word from the star himself that he would undergo a long pending surgery on October 21 and will not contemplate on signing or discussing on any new projects till his complete recovery from the injuries he sustained during the shoot of the current A.M. Ratnam production."

Ajith's spokesperson added : "The reason for the delay of surgery is to accommodate his commitments to veteran producer AM Ratnam's film. Following this is the big budget film with a multi star cast produced by Vijaya Productions for whom Ajith Kumar had committed himself to do a film in honour of the centenary year of Shri. Nagi Reddy. The shooting of this commercial entertainer will commence from April 1st in Hyderabad".

So it makes it clear that Ajith has no plans at the moment to work with some directors who had claimed that they were in discussion with the star for his next film.
