Tamil film industry observed a token fast on Tuesday (April 2) to protest alleged “war crimes” against Tamils in Sri Lanka.

The whole industry came together to show up their solidarity. Many artists, directors, producers, distributors and exhibitors participated in the hunger-strike being held at the premises of South Indian Film Artists’ Association in Chennai.

Stars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Ajith Kumar, Vikram, Surya Sivakumar, Karthi, Prakash Raj, Vishal Krishna, Arjun Sarja, Silambarasan, Sarath Kumar, Sathyaraj, Dhanush, Bharath, Jeeva, Sivaji Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Jayam Ravi and Arya were part of the event. However, it was not the same in case of heroines, as the actresses’ turn-out was poor.

Namitha, Lakshmi Rai, Dhansika, Ramya Krishnan, Urvashi, Ambika and Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, among others were spotted. But Trisha Krishnan came late to the venue due to her other commitment. Well, the buzz says that the actress was busy with the launch function of her newly endorsed ice cream brand. Hence, the actress joined the fast in the afternoon.
