Black Pandi, the telly actor turned comedian in films, who has acted in more than 20 films, including ‘Ghilli’, ‘Angadi Theru’ and ‘Deivathirumagal’, and is presently busy with a dozen movies, including ‘Vanakkam Chennai’ and ‘Velmurugan Borewell’, is soon to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend, Umeshwari Padmini.
Speaking about how their romance started, an excited Pandi says, "I met Umeshwari when I was acting in the serial, Kana Kaanum Kaalangal. She introduced herself as a fan of mine. Later, we became friends which blossomed into romance. We waited seven years for the elders from both the families to give their nod. Now that we have the green signal, our wedding has been fixed for December 1 at Aishwarya Mahal, Chennai." Pandi hails from a filmi family. His late father, M.C. Shekar, was a stage artist, and grandfather, Chockalingam, was a comedian who had worked with the likes of N.S. Krishnan, MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, etc.

Black Pandi is also a trained musician who has composed music for a few short films. "I have started a studio, called S Dad Studios, and will soon score music for films as well," he says.
