“It’s a romantic entertainer, and has a generous dose of comedy. I play a strict father to a useless son in the film,” says Raviee. So, how did he land the role? “They were looking for someone to play a Tamil father and one of Karan Johar’s associates had seen a couple of my Tamil films and had mentioned my name to him,” he reveals.
With several instances of Bollywood stereotyping south Indians in the recent past, quiz Raviee if he was apprehensive to play a Tamilian in a Hindi film, and he quickly clarifies, “It’s a humour-based script, and there’s no stereotyping. In fact, we speak a lot of Hindi and only a few lines in Tamil. Imran and I play a normal Tamil family settled in Mumbai. So, there’s no scope for making fun.”
