Actor Sathya (Arya’s brother) is all set to play the lead in Jeeva Shankar’s next film. He has replaced Atharvaa in the film, titled Amara Kaaviyam, which is set in the 1980s. The Naan director confirms, “Atharvaa was supposed to do the film earlier. But things didn’t work out.


Now, Sathya has been cast in the lead. The film is a teenage love story and will take place in the latter half of 80s. Thambi Ramiah has been cast in an important role.”

While Jeeva is unwilling to reveal the name of the heroine, he says, “We’ve finalized a Malayalam heroine to play the female lead. She has read the script and spoken to us over the phone. I will be meeting her next week to sign her on officially for the project.”

The film will go on floors from October 20 in Ooty. “Major portions of the film will be shot there. I will be handling the cinematography as well,and want the film to appeal visually to the audience. It will be a fresh take on first love, and is set in picturesque locations
