Siva Karthikeyan reaps gold at Chennai BO with his last released Tamil comedy "Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam" with Sri Divya. VVS has minted Rs.11.85crore in its opening weekend in Tamil Nadu.

Actor Sivakarthikeyan has added a hat-trick third success in 2013 and continues fifth hit in a row to his credit after "Marina", "Manam Kothi Paravai", "Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga" and "Ethir Neechal". All the movies struck gold at the box office.

"VVS has turned out to be the biggest hit in Sivakarthikeyan's career. The film registered the biggest opening in the actor's career so far. It has raked in a gross of Rs.11.85 crore in the opening weekend in Tamil Nadu," trade analyst Trinath said.

"Siva is just five films old, but he has turned out to be an actor of the masses. All his films so far have predominantly targeted the masses with comedy being a common genre. He has now become a sought-after actor in the industry," he added.

Siva's previous outing Tamil romantic-comedy "Ethir Neechal" produced by Dhanush reportedly brought in over Rs.15crore at the box office on an investment of approximately Rs.5crore.

Even before the release of VVS, Siva Karthikeyan happened to sign another film with its director Ponram that is expected to go on floors soon.He also has a Tamil fantasy-comedy "Maan Karate" in the offing opposite Hansika.
