Recently, Jawahar Ali, leader of the Tamil Nadu Muslim League doubts about Vishwaroopam 2 and reportedly says, "Our sources said Vishwaroopam 2 includes scenes that portray Muslims as terrorists along with the scenes that hurt our religious sentiments. I request Kamal Haasan not to showcase Muslim community negatively in the name of freedom of expression [acting]."

Directed, acted and co-produced by Kamal Haasan, Vishwaroopam 2 casts Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Shekhar Kapur, Rahul Bose, Waheeda Rahman and Anant Mahadevan. AR Rahman has composed the music and background for Vishwaroopam 2, slated for release later this year.
