Raana is a film which was supposed to have Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone. This film was to be directed by K S Ravikumar. Since Rajini fell ill, this project was shelved.

Once Rajini recovered from his illness, he started acting in the film Kochadaiyaan directed by his daughter Soundarya. This film was produced using the Motion Capturing Technology. When the shooting of this film took place in London, director K S Ravikumar also participated because he was the overseer of the director.

Now director Madesh is working in his place. The name of Madesh is prominently displayed in the publicity materials and teasers. It was K S Ravikumar who wrote the story of Kochadaiyaan when the film Raana was shelved. Since there was lots of graphic works involved, Ravikumar gave Soundarya the director responsibility. The shooting and post –production works of this film is over. K S Ravikumar is upset because he has not been given prominence.
