Arrambam declared as Blockbuster! Rs.50 cr Box Office Colection in first week

Arrambam declared Blockbuster! Rs.50 cr Box Office Colection in first week
Arrambam which was released for Deepavali on October 31, Thursday has crossed 50 crores collection in the first week.
Reports say the film has grossed more than 50 crores totally along with the overseas collections.

The much expected movie of Ajith garnered 7.20 crores at the Chennai box office alone and about 30 crores in Tamil Nadu.

The Ajith starrer is running to full houses in theatres worldwide. Particularly in Chennai, “Arrambam” dominates over new releases in Tamil as well as other languages.

According to trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai, “Arrambam” takes the top spot at the Chennai box office pushing down films including “All in All Azhaguraja”, “Pandiya Nadu” and “Krrish 3.”

Sreedhar tweeted, “CBO – Diwali Dhamaka weekend – Nov 1 to 3 – At 5 : Gravity 4. Krrish 3 . Pandiya Nadu 2. All in All Azhaguraja 1. Arrambam”.

Chennai Box Office Deepavali Weekend (1-3 November)

1. Arrambam
2. All in All Azhaguraja (AAA)
3. Pandiya Nadu
4. Krrish 3
5. Gravity

Directed by Vishnuvardhan, Arrambam has fulfilled the likes of the audience. The film has been declared as a blockbuster.

“Arrambam” opened well on 31 October. Sreedhar Pillai said the Ajith starrer raked in approximately Rs 8.75 crore nett (no tax) at the Tamil Nadu box office. The collections are the best ever opening for Ajith’s films, and it becomes the best opening of the year as against other big releases in Tamil.

“Vishwaroopam” raked in around Rs 5.81 crore on its first day at the TN box office, whereas “Singam 2″ reportedly fetched around Rs 8.15 crore from TN, Kerala and Karnataka areas (combined). However, “Arrambam” has made approximately Rs 8.75 crore from Tamil Nadu alone, despite releasing on a week day.

Now, the film has got more screens as Karthi starrer ‘All in All Alaghu Raja’ has not satisfied the audiences’ expectations. With more screens for ‘ Arrambam’, the collections are expected to soar high in the next couple of weeks.

"Arrambam" has emerged as the clear winner among the Diwali releases in Chennai theatres. "AAA", which was panned by critics, holds the second spot thanks to advance bookings for the film. The film's collections are expected to drop in the coming days.

Vishal's "Pandiya Nadu" has fetched decent collections at the box office. The film has taken the third spot at the Chennai box office due to limited number of shows. Its collections are expected to pick up, once more number of screens is allotted from the second week.

Hrithik Roshan's "Krrish 3" is on a record smashing spree in northern circuits. Although the film has received positive feedback from critics and audiences in TN, the sci-fi entertainer has not been able dominate over Tamil releases in the state.
