King of Cricket, Sachin tendulkar has launched the 4th edition of Celebrity Cricket League yesterday in Mumbai.

Celebrity Cricket League that started in 2011 has huge inception from fans, viewers and Television channels, which made many heads turn. Steadily it is getting more and more competitive and the teams are apparently keen on winning the championship and started rehearsals quite a while before.

Mumbai Heroes, Chennai Rhinos, Telugu Warriors, Kereala Stikers, Karnataka, Buldozers, Bhojpuri Dabanggs, Bengal Tigers and Veer Marathi are the eight teams that are going to participate in the Celebrity Cricket League CCL 4 in 2014.

Remember, Chennai Rhinos has won the first two seasons of CCL in 2011 and 2012, while Karnataka Buldozers have bagged the shield in 2013. All the film fraternities are eager about the coming CCL season with the hopes to win it.

About 200 celebrities including Dhanush, Salman Khan, Sarath Kumar, Shruti Haasan, Charmi, Jeeva, Vikranth, Venkatesh, Srikanth, Boney Kapoor were few among the biggies who graced the inauguration event along with the teams.

The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) is a non-professional men’s cricket league contested by eight teams consisting of film actors, including from the regional film industry.

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, who is the captain of the Bollywood team ‘Mumbai Heroes’ said the tournament was a good opportunity for actors to relax and also showcase their sporty side.

“Cricket is a sport which you enjoy. We are not professionals but we play as a team. There are various actors playing in our team,” said Shetty.

Around 200 celebrities from film industries across India participated in the inaugural event of the tournament.

Bollywood couple Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’ Souza were also present at the event.

Actor Dhanush said: “I really don’t know which team I am supporting but I just want to watch good cricket. Cricket celebrity league is a great platform for all of us, to come together and develop a friendship. It is very nice to be here, I am very thrilled.

Present at the event was also Bollywood film producer Boney Kapoor who owns the ‘Bengal Tigers’ team with the Sahara Group.
