STR has sung a song for the movie, Mahabalipuram, produced by Vinayak. The producer, himself, plays the lead in the movie.

The movie is directed by Don Sandy, a former assistant of Director Boopathy Pandian.

Yugabharathi pens lyrics, for the music of K, who had earlier composed music for Mugamoodi and Yudham Sei. The song, sung by STR, reportedly, is a New Year Song and is expected to be released on the New Year day.

Ilamai Itho Itho from Sakalakala Vallavan has been Tamil Nadu's New Year song for almost two decades. Will this new song replace it? We will have to wait and see.
